Milwaukee and Armitage Apartments
This composite concrete and cold-formed steel building in Chicago, IL is comprised of eight levels including apartments, retail, and rooftop terrace green space. TJ was involved with complete EOR design of building framing including cold-formed steel upper floors/roof, composite transfer podium, masonry shear walls, and drilled shaft foundations. The building also incorporates an existing historic building façade that was shored up and secured to the new building. The total building area of the project is around 122,000 sf.

Libby Dam Powerhouse Gantry Crane Rehabilitation
MDS provided complete structural evaluation and design for the 300-ton main gantry trolley, operator cab, bulkhead platform, lifting beams and associated components. The analysis involved loading requirements from Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) including travel rates, hoist rates, impact forces, and below the hook lifting devices. TJ oversaw the project from inception to final design which included finite element modeling of the trolley platform. The project was completed in March of 2022.
